Pike Kids

God is equipping all of us as a church family to build the faith foundation of his children through our Pike Kids Ministry. Our Bible classes are a warm and safe place for children from birth through 6th grade to experience the truth in God’s word. They learn how to read and study their Bibles.


As part of this family, Pike Kids learn not only about ministry, but how to be ministers themselves. We teach “faith in action,” service, becoming peacemakers, befriending the outcast, accountability, encouragement, and more. Special events allow a multi-generational congregation to shower its young people with God’s love and be “family.” Children who are a part of the “Pike Kids'' find friends with whom they can share life. Most importantly, they find a best friend in Jesus, the One with whom they can share eternity.

Tomorrow night, please drop your K-6 students off in the Theater. We’ll have a brief devotional and then end the night with popsicles on the playground. Pick-up will be on the Playground! 2s and 3s will be in their normal classroom, and the nursery will be staffed!

This week on the Pike looks like a blast! On Wednesday 8/16, ALL Pike Kids (2’s-6th grade) will meet in the Sonshine Theater for a Veggie Night at 6:30! Make sure to join- you won’t want to miss! Then this coming Sunday 8/20 during worship service, 3rd and 4th graders will meet in the Clubhouse for another meeting of our worship training class, Foundations of Worship! The Pike Kids + friends have been having a stellar time at Kids Camp this week! From mission control bible studies to playing outside, the kiddos are learning how to shine Jesus’ light in all circumstances!🌟💚
These crazy Pike Kids bless us again and again! Today in Sonshine Worship, we learned about Abram’s obedience to God, and these kids show such willingness to follow God and His commands. God blesses us so we can bless others, and our @thepikekids family is one of our biggest blessings!

The Lord is MOVING, friends! This past week we witnessed 3 of our kiddos accept Jesus into their lives through baptism. We are so blessed by GHYC, and we are so blessed to have been together this week! Until next year, Camp Riva Lake!

A Bible Buddy is an animal friend that the Pike Kids can choose to adopt. As part of their adoption agreement, Pike Kids will commit to reading their Bibles to their feline friend EVERY DAY until Easter using our reading calendar. Bible Buddies LIVE by the WORD of God! See y’all Sunday as we commit to helping our Bible Buddies live by learning the words of Scripture!

🎉OH WHAT FUN NEWS I have for all of you! 🎉 This past weekend, we announced at our Winter Experience retreat who our summer interns will be. I am pleased to announce that the Pike Kids intern for this next summer will be Elizabeth Rhodes! She goes by Elle(pronounced Ellie) and she’s over the moon to join us! Elle is a junior at Freed Hardeman University, and she is studying both Early Childhood Education and Ministry. Elle is from the Waverly, TN area. Join me in welcoming Elle to the Green Hills family!
Tomorrow night, Pike Kids in grades Pre-K through 6th can join us in the Sonshine Theater for a special Valentine’s Service Project! We’ll be making some special ”love bugs” that will be distributed in Monday Meals bags on February 13th!
Parents, we will not have Sonshine Worship this Sunday due to it being a 5th Sunday! Grab your activity packets at any entrance on your way in to worship! Sonshine will resume next Sunday, February 5!

Hey, everyone! Due to the very special nature of this Sunday, we will not be having normal Pike Kids Bible classes or Sonshine Worship. Additionally, we will not have a staffed nursery this week. The nursery is always open for your family, but please know there is not a nursery attendant on Sunday. What a jam-packed weekend we had! Cookies and Cocoa with our Pike Kids, and then an ah-mazing Christmas concert with our Pike Kids and @greenhillsyouth ! We are just so thankful for this church family, these students, and the joy we can all share together!
Christmas is here for all you parents of K-6th graders out there! We will be having a Parents’ Night Out this Friday night in the Children’s Wing from 5:30-9:00! We will be constructing a Gingerbread Metropolis! It will be a sight to behold, we feel certain. We’ll have a Bible lesson and a pizza dinner- much fun will be had! THEY’RE. BACK. The wisemen screeched in on two wheels today from the Far East, and they are already hot on the trail to the manger! We can’t wait to join in the journey with these wise guys as they search for Baby Jesus in the manger in Bethlehem! They searched high and low at Harding Hall, but no manger!

What a fun morning we had in chapel at the Lower School at Lipscomb Academy! We learned the story of Abraham, and how the Lord blesses those who move when He says ”move”. And a special thanks to Kellen Starks, Arwen Sturgeon, Claire Haynes, Caleb Wright, and Parker Burton for being great sports and playing along with me!
